Andrea Taylor, a full-time artist, has a particular love for relief printmaking and brings this great enthusiasm to her teaching. Amongst her completed projects is "Childhood Summers by the Sea", a letterpress book of her stories and linocuts. and "Sea Monsters", a letterpress book inspired by the unknown under the sea, contains 4 of Andrea's etchings. Andrea has taught relief printmaking in her studio for years, at Dundarave Print Workshop and at Mountain Haven Arts in Mission, BC. Learn to make linocut prints. Instruction takes the student through planning, to transferring an image to the block, carving and printing the image. Learn a simple 2 colour block printing method. Opportunity will also be available for intermediate/advanced students to do reduction linocut and other advanced techniques. Everyone can carve, print and edition a plate!

Students will be required to bring: Notebook or sketchbook pencil, eraser 2-4 sheets printmaking paper (BFK 140lb. White) at least 1 piece linoleum, Linocut tool, Speedball or other, with a V1 gouge (min)

WITHDRAWALS: Greater than 2 weeks notice: fees refunded minus admin fee of $30.00. Less than 2 weeks notice: fees refunded minus admin fee of $55.00.

CANCELLATION: Courses may occasionally be cancelled due to insufficient enrolment or other unforeseen reasons. Should DPW cancel the course, a full refund or credit for another course will be issued.
